| Rakovica Cultural and Educational Center was founded in 1976. This institution organizes a number of different programs in the field of culture and education.
Musical activity takes place through an intensive cooperation with the Cultural-Artistic Societies "D. Koturović", "Krajina", "Mladost", as well as with the Music School "Davorin Jenko", which hold concerts of classical music in the hall of the Center on a regular basis. Additionally, in cooperation with the Friends of the Children of Rakovica and Belgrade, reviews and competitions for choirs and solo singing are organized. The Ballet School of the Center has its regular performances throughout the year.
There used to be a particularly successful Children’s Amateur Theater in the Center, some performances of which were played over 100 times and won numerous awards. Carrying on that tradition, in October 2002, the Dramatic Group D.A.R. (alternative drama workshop) was founded in the Center, which includes a dozen of professional artists. Center is also the venue of the Festival of Short Dramatic Forms of the children of Belgrade organized by the Friends of the Children of Belgrade.
The Gallery of the Center is the venue of one-man and group exhibitions of the Association of Visual Artists of Rakovica, which was founded in 1995, and operates under the sponsorship of the Center. The members of the Association are professional artists and amateur artists of different profiles and interests, both in the area of artistic creativity, and in the fields of applied arts and design. The Gallery of the Center also organizes exhibitions of the guests who are eminent visual artists from Belgrade.
The Center has also set up:
School of Acting for children of 7 to 12 years of age and those of 12 to 16 years old. It also organizes preparatory courses for prospective applicants for the Faculties of Dramatic Arts.
