Just north of Südbahnhof, the Military Museum is part of the Arsenal complex and houses a great collection of art and documents plus vehicles and planes showing the 30year war up to the WW2 era, with Austria as a focus. The romantic feel of the exterior of the Arsenal is a contrast to the interior. Once weapons of all types were stored here. The Arsenal was built in 1848 after the Revolution. Uniforms, arms, videos, a free audio guide available in 3 languages, there is a lot of information and impressive visualization of the history of the wars Habsburg was involved in. The entrance can be accessed thru the Schweizer Garten.
