| Originally located a few steps away from Senj’s cathedral, this church was built by Captain Ivan Lenković in 1558 to compensate the Franciscans for the loss of their monastery outside the city walls, demolished in order to provide building materials for the Nehaj Fortress. The church was so badly damaged by allied bombing in 1943 that it had to be demolished, and today only the bell tower still remains. A rectangle of grass marks the original ground plan of the church. |
