The votive chapel of St Rocco was built in 1635 to guard Sutivan against plague. According to the custom for such churches, it was built at the entrance to the town. Inside the chapel there’s a collection of pictures and models of ships donated by the town’s sailors and fishermen to give thanks after they were delivered from cruel storms at sea. This peaceful hilltop chapel stands by Sutivan’s cemetery which is famous for its catacombs.
