The Hunting Museum was founded in 1954 by the Croatian Hunting Federation. Since 1963 it has been located in the one-time Volmut Villa. The holdings of the Museum comprise more than 2,000 items, mainly superb trophies of game from Croatia, and samples of interesting and atypical trophies (elk, raccoon dog and so on) and anomalies. A unique feature is the exhibition of the bird and birds' eggs collection (171 species). The collection of hunting weapons is very interesting; this includes firearms and other weapons used since the 16th century. Gifts from hunters constantly enlarge the holdings. The permanent exhibition is laid out in a space that is made to look like a realistic setting. From time to time thematic and occasional exhibitions are organized, as well as lectures in collaboration with the Croatian Hunting Federation.
