Description:
The Cathedral was built in 1890 and consecrated in 1891 by Metropolitan George (Nikolayevich). In 1941 the Cathedral was laid waste and desecrated by the Germans. In 1969/70 and 1985/86 it was partially rebuilt, when His Eminence Bishop Chrysostom was appointed to the Diocese. Between 1991 and 1994 it was fully renovated and consecrated on 17 July 1994. From 15 September 1995 to 2001, the Cathedral fell into a ruinous state, having been desecrated again and laid waste by the Bosnian and Herzogovinian Army (BHA). It was partially rebuilt in 2001/2.
