Janusevic Castle

Janusevic castle is a picturesque castle on the slopes of the Zagorje hills and was built in 1830 by Baron Josip Vrkljan who was in charge of Napoleon’s second wife’s finances. Janusevic is a classical country house with six acres of garden which has since become overgrown. The building was sold ten years after it was built by auction to Count Edgar de Corberan from France. The state archives of Croatia are currently stored here.
