This monastery is known by the fact that the work of Obod printing shop, the first printing shop in the area began in it, and was later transferred to Cetinje. Sveti Nikola Monastery with its church was the seat of the Zeta Metropolitanate for some time. When the Turks invaded, the monastery was turned into a mosque. It was rebuilt as a church in 1890, and its renewal began in 1996.
