Description:
The museum was founded in 1973 by the Republic of Croatia on the four hundredth anniversary of the 1573 Peasant’s Revolt. The museum is located within the former eighteenth century baroque palace once owned by the Orsic family. The museum is intended to portray the cultural activities of those from the Zagorje region and it has displays showing the weapons and tools used during the uprisings. There is an exhibition that focuses on sacral art from the region.
