The National Park of Majella covers 74,095 hectares and includes the provinces of Chieti, Pescara and L'Aquila. It is characterized by high mountainous of the territory, 55% is higher than 2000 meters. The park is home to wildlife species of great value, such as the Apennine chamois, the bear and the wolf. At floristic level, the Park is the southernmost sector of the Alpine Region Europe with over 2000 species surveyed.
