| The National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise covers an area of 49,680 hectares in three regions. It was established in 1921, and is a model for nature conservation and environmental protection. It hosts a wide variety of species, including the bear Marsicano. The vegetation is predominantly beech woods, which occupies about 60% of the area of the park. |
