| In via dei Frentani, near Piazza Plebiscito, on the right, is the Teatro Comunale Fenaroli, with a neo-classical brickwork façade (1842). At the front on the left is the Romanesque bell tower on the no-longer-extant church of S. Giovanni Battista. On the corner of Piazza dei Frentani is a house-shop, with a stone plaque mentinioning Nicolaus Rubeus, the owner, and the year 1434. At the end of the street is the bell tower of the Romanesque church of S. Biagio (no longer holda services) wich possibily dates to before 1059. Lower down is the ogival gate of the same name, built in the 11th century. This is the only surviving gate from the medieval walls. |
