The Church of Sv. Urh
Church, ruined church, chapel, temple
Catholic
no
The Church of Sv. Urh in Maršiči originated in the Middle Ages and was renovated in the Baroque period. It is decorated with 16th-century frescoes by the so-called Croatian painters painted in a colourful and anecdotal folk style. The very unusual allegory, a fresco of a pilgrim fox carrying a stolen goose in a bag, is surrounded by the insignia of church dignitaries, is an intriguing interweaving of Reformation ideals and folk humour.
