| This Church is located on a spur dominating the Molino gorge below. It is decorated with stuccowork by Carlo Piazzoli, and canvases and frescoes by Donato Teodor, with some handsome Baroque furnishings, a 14th century statue of the Madonna del Casale and, above all, one of the region's most important paintings, the 17th century Virgin with Child St. Francis and Donor by the Valsesia painter, TAnzio da Varallo (about 1580/1633) a great follower of Caravaggio, who worked mainly in Lombardy and Piedmont. |
