Description:
Baron Hans Rudolf of Stotzingen built the pilgrimage church, the so-called "Loretto" chapel in the year Jahr 1644. Franz Nádasdy extended the chapel to a monastery with church. The great fire of 1781 devastated the two steeples. The pulpit was created by Ladislaus Damjanowicz from Budapest (Hungary); the highly decorated church organ was built in 1762. The pilgrimage church dedicated to the Immaculate Conception was awarded the title of "Pontifical Basilica minor" by Pope John Paul II on May 06, 1997.
