The day dedicated to the resurrection of Jesus Christ begins very early in Spoltere, an hilly town between the rivers Pescara and Tavo. At 9:30 a.m., after Mass, the Largo della Porta square begins to fill with children carrying baskets of colorful hard-boiled eggs, supervised by watchful and solicitous parents and grandparents. Facing each other, they take turns to hit with their own hard-boiled egg the one of the opponent. This cheerful game, called "Schucchie", is an Easter tradition of peasant origin. Around noon, a very interesting event takes place, the so called "Incontro di Pasqua" (Easter meeting), the Virgin Mary in disbelief after discovering the risen Christ, ends her mourning and dropping the black cloak, rejoice by showing her white dress.
