| The city parish church St. Stephan towers mightfully above the townscape and is since its beginning the landmark of Eggenburg. With the two romanic east towers (12th century), the early gothic choir (14th century) and the late gothic "Langhaus" (1491-1515) this building is a monument of native stone-cutter art. Some characteristics: late gothic light house, church father pulpit, high altar 1885, side altar: gothic Elizabeth altar (1521). |
