In 1740 they settled in the Dominican convent of S. Dominic. But they did not have time to build instead a new church, whose design was entrusted to the Roman Empire between Antonio Cantaloupes, since the suppression of religious orders, desired by so-called revolutionary laws, in 1809 they stopped work. The convent became communal property of the state who used it, over the years for various needs (schools, offices, prisons, ...). Since the end dell'1800, thanks to the generosity of Mrs. Angela Maria Sgobba (who gave the testamentary act with his entire wealth to the City of Walnut because I realized a hospital), a wing of the convent was used as a hospital and workhouse for indigent, an institution still active as a home for the elderly.
