Church, ruined church, chapel, temple

no
The building was built in the late twelfth century at the crossroads between the Via Adriatica and Traiana that leads to Rome. It was the seat of Canons of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and then the priory of the order of Malta, and was very popular among pilgrims and crusaders to the Holy Land, who embarked from the port of Barletta. The church is Romanesque-Gothic style, and features a basilica with three naves divided by pillars, a transept and three apses. The narthex is surmounted by a platform, and there is a dome at the intersection of the arms. The chapel is located above the narthex, the Treasury, which includes a cross patriarchal twin, a tabernacle with Christ in Majesty in a mandorla, a Eucharistic dove copper gilt monstrance dating from the twelfth century and more.
