The foundation date of this church should be around 1291. A century after it was acquired by the cloistered nuns of the Order of St. Dominic, which they switched cli a convent and moved in abandoning the old Angevin complex outside the walls. Formerly the main entrance was on the old Exchange Street, in a lateral to the altar and apse. The monastery survived the suppression of 1809 Murat, but not the deputy legislative decree of 17 February 1861, after which it was suppressed and confiscated by the government. During the sixties the gateway of the church was moved from the alley way Cavour Saint Lucia. In 1966 the complex has acquired the title of the parish. Inside, a single room with coffered ceiling and side chapels, the had several changes over the centuries.
