| The complex of the Carmelites, with a church and adjacent convent, was built around the year 1300 on the old walls on the west side of Barletta. The monastery was rebuilt and enlarged in about 1620. 1731 facade of the church was destroyed after an earthquake and then restored. The community was suppressed, like most other towns, in 1809. After 1815 it was again restored. The present church is neo-classical style. Currently the complex is owned by the De Martino family-Norante, who has recently done a renovation.
