| The structure, pseudo-rectangular in plan, ending with two apses. The left apse was intended as a funerary chapel for the presence of a tomb built into the wall and the representation of the theme of Deesis. The wall paintings, which are also ascribed to the thirteenth century, depict a rich iconography, including scenes from the Old Testament and a Christological cycle, quite rare theme in the decoration of the painted cave churches. |
