| Built in the years 1408 -1414, the Mother Church of San Lorenzo was consecrated on November 19, 1673. The church is a basilica with three naves, each marked by two rows of three columns. The nave is twice the width of the side on which overlook the chapels, decorated with many frescoes and paintings of art.
The facade in late Gothic style, is divided by four pilasters, into three parts: the central, highest and the main entrance surmounted by a large rose window. The tympanum ends with concave gable flanked by convex sloping.
The large central rose of the type "chariot wheel", is nestled on a large circular eye façade richly decorated. It is constituted by a succession of twenty Gothic arches placed on as many columns like converging rays on a central hub. |
