| We have news of the church of San Vito from the fifteenth century. is located in the homonymous district, along the eastern edge of the ravine. It has a longitudinal plan mononave divided into two parts, the first partially underground, the second, lower, completely carved into the rock.
The front façade is built of blocks of tufa with a single entrance. Inside, three arches on each side rest on half-pillars, which are also molded into the rock. The underground environment, corresponding to the presbytery, is trapezoidal in plan. an altar for the Latin liturgy is leaning against the wall. It is flanked by faint traces of frescoes depicting Saint Vitus and the Saint Doctors. |
