In the territory of Laterza there are several sources of spring water. Among these, the medieval fountain characterized by the presence of architectural elements related to the Roman period (arcs) and their subsequent integration with architectural motifs and decorative of the sixteenth century. We still retain the emblem and the date of construction (1544). The emblem combines two coats of arms: the rake of the D'Azzia diagonal and the arm of Brancaccio (the two families of the Marquis of Laterza were related by marriage). Until a decade ago, the water flowed in the pipe original. Today it runs through a concrete pipe and collects in a cistern. From the eleven holes out there that are decorated with masks in bronze. The water flows in basins for animals, then move into a small basin (the laundry) and spills, finally, in the channel of "sciuvilo" which flows into the bottom of the Ravine.
