| This church, of which unfortunately we do not know the time of foundation, was consecrated during the pastoral visitation of 1544. In mid-1700 it was, however, prohibited, and its altar was transferred to the Church of the Holy Cross, outside the city walls.
The church consists of two parts:
- The oldest part of the underground church of St. James I, in which are depicted the "Last Judgment" and the pilgrimage of three pilgrims to the shrine of Compostela;
- The semi-underground church of St. James II, towards the ravine, where you can admire the fresco of a Blessing Saint. |
