| The "Gravina of Castellaneta" or "Great Gravina" surrounds the old town. One of the largest and most spectacular canyons of Puglia. It extends for tens of kilometers with several loops, deep at its maximum of 145 ft up to about 300 m. It has very steep walls, almost vertical, and along its path are visible traces of archaeological and historical importance, as well as caves and rock dwellings. |
