| The public gardens of Trani is situated on a terrace of the ancient walls on the seashore. It is full of oaks, pines and palms and is adorned with flower beds, fountains and avenues. It was built in 1823 after donating a plot of the Antonacci family. The panorama stretches from the Cathedral to the peninsula of Colonna. In it lies the War Memorial designed by sculptor Antonio Bassi from Trani, a cannon dating from the Second World War, six milestones of Trajan way, the aquarium that has been recently restored. Villa is accessed from the left of the fort of St. Anthony, intended to defend the entrance to the harbor. The fort encompasses the church built in the twelfth century. A balcony on the sea can be seen in its entirety on the seafront of Trani, which extends to the peninsula of Column. |
