The complex of S. Domenico, originally dedicated to St. Humility Mary, was built in 1398 at the behest of the Duchess Sveva Orsini, widow of Francis I Of Dodge, who gave the Dominicans a wall around his garden. In 1809 the monks were expelled from the Napoleonic laws, the convent was initially used as a prison, in 1896 was the site of the utility, then the grammar school and even elementary schools. Inside and outside the original Gothic structure has been modified over the centuries. The facade was altered in the sixteenth century, and has a Renaissance portal from 1510 surmounted by a shell in which it appears carved image of Our Lady of the Rosary with the sides S. Dominic and St. Catherine of Siena. The church inside a single nave with five altars, including the largest (the altars were originally 13). The interior paintings combined with the emblems of household customers. In the sacristy of the church is preserved the body of the Duke Francesco II Del Balzo and a fine white marble bust of the great sculptor Francesco Laurana. Between 1765 and 1769 the tower was erected by the architect Domenico Ieva, baroque style and three-storey.
