The Church of the Annunciation is located outside the city walls - because of what was called "outside" - near the port of Bar. It was built around the XII century, as attested by a plaque placed in the church of 1173, and it appeared small and three aisles. In 1350 the Annunciation church was destroyed by Hungarian soldiers in the war against the Queen Giovanna of Naples. for the murder of Andrew, the brother of their king, Louis. On commission of Del Balzo, the Annunciation was rebuilt plant with one nave and completed in 1490. The emblem of the Del Balzo, a star of sixteen rays, is carved on a holy water font with that of the Angevins and Aragonese and the town of Andria. Were reused the two side doors, set into the current facade, and a large arch that divides the nave. Inside the church we find a total of five altars, two of which are wood, with large spiral columns that frame canvases of moderate value: there are in a God who blesses the creation and Immaculate Virgin with the crescent moon; in the other the Marriage of the Virgin in front of the aged Simeon and San Vito and the Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth. At the entrance stands a canvas signed and dated 1836, made by Saverio Calò, depicting Maria with the child in her arms holding the cross. In the ceiling there is a painting of a large tree at the foot of which there are Adam and Eve and, on top, Mary, with folded hands who crushes the head of the serpent Satan. In the chancel are also two canvases with Moses making water gush from the rock and Abraham prepares to sacrifice Isaac.
