| The church of Santa Maria del Soccorso differs from the general type of architecture of the other churches of L'Aquila. The facade is, in fact, two-color, made of white marble and pink marble.
The inside of the church but is designed and decorated in the Gothic style. Consisting of a nave and two chapels, one of which is attributed to the work of Andrea Dell'Aquila, a pupil of 'artist Donatello.
This church was hit by the earthquake of 2009, suffering heavy damage lesionari, and is on the list of art and history to be saved and restored in the land of Abruzzo affected by the tragedy. |
