The church of S. Maria of Passavia was erected by the city in 1747 instead of an older chapel, which already housed the miraculous image of Our Lady, which was taken at the beginning of the century by a monk from the city of Passavia (Germany). The care of the church was at first entrusted to the Municipality, and for the maintenance of the cult gave a grant obtained from the thick of the adjacent House of Our Lady of Passavia, a town property. In 1887 he was assigned to Eng. Mauro Albrizio the task of extending the building. Occasion was set to the new bell tower, typical nineteenth century, emerging from the top of the building block First branch of the Cathedral Church, it became a parish in 1911. The façade is pierced only by a doorway and a window above it, and crowned by a curved pediment with two corrections. More complex is the outer area of ​​the apse, in neoclassical style, on two floors with an entrance adorned with a small Doric portico. Inside the church is in neoclassical style, with four bays divided by pilasters cornices. The first, the only original and at the hall-choir, has a low arch and a bare frame toric. On either side you have several chapels with altars.
