General information
Montano Tower
Secular building
no
At the end of the medieval period the small town of Salve had a keep with a moat around it, in the same way that many noble houses of the time were built with defences. The Tower of Montano is one of these towers built by the nobility, perhaps the one of most interest in the town, it was built in 1563. The original quadrangular structure has been added to over the centuries, but still retains some of its original architectural features such as the semi-circular watch towers in the four top corners and the slits in the walls. A picture frame in the “durazzesque style” decorates the entrance.
