| The Wood known as “Bosco della Serra del Mucrone” is an area of about 2,000 square metres of Mediterranean scrubland.
It is in the Supersano district near the Coelimanna crypt, one of the most important crypts in this part of South Salento. The wood has recently been made into a Nature Park and equipped with a Vistor’s centre (The Serra di Coelimanna Visitor’s centre).
The park has old country tracks running through it, called “Tratturi”, walking along these you not only have the opportunity to see the wildlife and biodiversity but can also visit two recently restored sites. These are the Crypt and the Sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady Coelimanna and there is a picnic area nearby.
This is also where the Visitor Centre is located, here you can find information on the park.
