Description:
The Coelimanna Menhir is in the Supersano area not far from the Byzantine crypt of the same name. It is a monolith in the shape of a parallelepiped and stands 2.20 metres high, There is a metal cross on the top. This monument dates back to prehistoric times and was probably put there for some form of worship. Like many of the megalithic monuments here in Salento the Coelimanna menhir was “Christianized” becoming a Christian signpost.
