Description:
The church dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima is situated on the hill of the same name in the countryside surrounding Tricase. The building was upgraded to a sanctuary in 1957, on the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the apparition of the Virgin Mary to Fatima. You can visit the Chapel by going up a long flight of steps, at the top of which you can immediately view the simplicity and balance in the façade and adjacent bell tower. The church has a simple rectangular shape with a single nave, covered by a sloping roof. The plain entranceway is surmounted by a rose window. The area is interesting for its panoramic position. From here you can look out over a large part of the land which goes from the town of Tricase down to the Adriatic sea. Next to the chapel you can visit an old necropolis.
