| Just outside of Otranto, to the south, in the "Valley of Memories" stands a hill on top of which rises "Torre Pinta", a round tower which dominates the landscape. It is an example of a dovecote tower, built on a settlement of a previous era, perhaps Christian. In fact there is a large underground in the shape of a Latin cross regularly. All niches and wide corridor with a low ceiling, have deep cuts. Some think that originally the niches were used for burials, perhaps in pre-Roman times. |
