The Church of St. Peter is an ancient building of Samari Byzantine. The name of the building comes from the nearby Fosso dei Samari and its dedication to St. Peter comes from the legend that the apostle, traveling to Rome, crossed these places. In nineteenth-century Latin incision (perhaps copied from an older one) it is written that the church was built in 1148 at the behest of Hugh of Lusignan. The church is a monument very interesting despite being in a state of decay.
