The Tower of Leverano is about 28 meters high and, according to tradition, it was built by Frederick II in 1220 for monitoring the Ionian coast threatened by the pirates. The tower is a national monument since 1870. It has a parallelepiped shape with a square base. The upper part is equipped with battlements. It was originally surrounded by a moat.
