| Originally known as K.K. Theater an der Burg, then until 1918 as the K.K. Hofburgtheater, is the Austrian National Theatre in Vienna and one of the most important German language theatres in the world. The Burgtheater was created in 1741. It is not just interesting to see the performances on the stage at this shrine to German-language theatre. The building, which was built between 1874 and 1888, features a Renaissance facade and has a splendid interior, is also worthy of closer scrutiny. |
