| Lanciano is the town of the first Eucharistic Miracle in Catholic Church. The Miracle is visited every year by thousands of Pilgrims attracted by mistery and deep faith, took place in the VIII century when a Basilian Monk's doubt turned the Holy Host into flesh and the wine into blood. Nowadays the relics, five drops of coagulated blood and a thin circular flesh membrane, are preserved in a monstrance made by an artist of the Neapolitan school, inside the Church of St. Francesco. |
