Residence, built by Josef Kornhäusel 1825-27. The building has a studio in the tower. On the facade are reliefs and a commemorative tablet to Adalbert Stifter. The Kornhäuselturm is an early 19th century tower in one of Vienna′s most central locations, the Fleischmarkt area. It was designed by the Biedermeier architect Josef Kornhäuselturm, who was also in charge with the design of the nearby Stadttempel synagogue. Other works of Kornhäusel in Vienna include the Theater in der Josefstadt. For smaller buildings, the old town of Baden has several fine examples of Kornhäusel-buildings. Back to the tower…
