The town of Imst in the Tyrolean area of Oberland is known far and wide for its nurturing of tradition and customs. Original and valuable items of regional history and be viewed in the “Museum in the Balehouse”. The extensive collection of the town of Imst is attractively presented here in a simple, modern way. The name of the museum refers to the original function of the building, which was built as a storeroom for bales and is first mentioned in documents in 1530. Art and everyday objects in the delightfully renovated historical setting recount the story from the town’s beginnings in the town in the 14th century B.C. to the present day. Special exhibitions present the creativity of local artists, amongst other things.
