| Serranova Castle, built by the feudal lord Octavio Serra in 1629, insists on an older section of the 1350 which has preserved the original entrance on the first floor. It has a square tower, to mild counterscarp and all covered by a system of trap doors. Near the castle stands the chapel of the 17th century, a single nave with a barrel vault, with three altars and baptismal font. On the portal of entry is inserted the weapon of the Imperial family, Princes of Francavilla and Carovigno in 18th century. On the main altar is a painting by unknown artists of the seventeenth century, depicting the saints Crisante and Daria, under whose protection the Baron Ottavio Serra gathered some inhabitants of the farm Serranova. In an altar is placed a miraculous wooden crucifix of 17th century |
