| The Messapian settlement, covering about 23 hectares, is attributed to two historical phases: the first dated 5th – 4th century BC, the second 8th century BC. You can see a first dry stones enclosure and a fence, wider at the base of the hill. The structures identified belong to buildings with several rooms of a square roof of leaves and clay tiles. The buildings looked out on to paved streets and converged with shredded pieces in a large open area on top of the hill, probably a square used in rituals and ceremonies |
