St. Magdalenen Kapelle
Church, ruined church, chapel, temple
Catholic
no
St. Magdalenen Kapelle is dating back to the year 1280 and it had 2 floors at the beginning. Nowadays the lower floor is a shop and the upper floor is a chapel that is maily used nowadays in order to memorize the dead soldiers of the 2 world wars. It has a really interesting interior with wonderful frescoes and a great late-gothic wooden altar, that was taken there from the church St. Magdalena im Halltal. The frescoes are showing Holy Mary surrounded by saints, the Holy Three Kings and the final judgement: in my 4th picture, you see the people going to hell and eaten by a crocodile or another bad creature and what you will see there also very clearly: all of them are naked, but by their hats you will also see kings, bishops and even popes among those been sent to hell. And finally in my 5th picture: the ones going to heaven.
