| Bruck Castle was built with a mighty keep in the 13th century and expanded in the 16th. High above Lienz in an idyllic country park stands Bruck Castle. The atmosphere is perfect for enjoying art. The imposing mediaeval castle complex was built in the 13th century by the Görz Counts as a residential castle. Today, the castle’s rooms are home to the museum of the town Lienz and also the most extensive public collection of works by the famed Eastern Tyrolean painter Albin Egger-Lienz. In addition to the Knights' Hall, the heart of the Bruck Castle is formed by the two-storey Roman chapel with its colourful frescos. The museum shop offers great finds to take home, while delicious treats and a wonderful panoramic view of the Dolomites can be enjoyed on the sun terrace. |
