| The castle is called Burg Oberkapfenberg and it is located on a mountain near the Neuberg Highlanders' home ice hockey arena in Kapfenberg. The castle is old, rustic, and gorgeous. The view from the terrace of the castle could take your breath away.
The history of Oberkapfenberg dates back to the 12th century. Today, visitors can experience an interactive multimedia installation, guiding them on a journey through time accompanied by crusaders and alchemists. In the children’s exhibition with its crusader tent and alchemists’ laboratory, the little ones have the chance of feeling, discovering and exploring everything on their own.
For those interested, the attractions include a live demonstration show with birds of prey. Alternatively, follow the exhibition’s journey through time or relax in the castle tavern or with the castle innkeeper. The programme also includes hikes to the Loretto Chapel, allowing you to explore the Wulfing Trail - a panorama loop offering fun and adventure for the entire family. The overall offering is completed by various events throughout the entire year, from witches’ festivals over knights’ festivities to concerts with ancient music and an arts and crafts market in the weeks leading up to Christmas. |
