Description:
The church of the Capuchin Monastery with the corresponding monastery wing at Kernstockplatz is in accordance with these observances. This building was erected in 1654 and it was situated outside the town walls. Here the Reckturm (Reck tower) reminds us of a gruesome past because it was not only a fortification but a prison as well. The Reckturm originates from the second half of the 13th century. At the upper end of the park you find the former medieval castle form the beginning of the 12th century. The Hartberg Castle.
