| The main square served as the marketplace and is surrounded by two and three-storey houses once owned by rich tradesmen and noblemen.
The town hall tower is the most famous landmark of the city. The three lower stories represent the Gothic period. The upper section of the tower was destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 1806. Three plaques on the outside of the ground level remember victims of World War I and the occupation of the city after the fall of the monarchy. Inside the tower there is a memorial for the victims of World War II designed by Franz Silberbauer. |
